Summary:
A Laborer assists Craft Journeyman and Craft Helpers by performing support tasks on construction projects such as erecting, wrecking, repairing, maintenance and janitorial functions. Considered entry level.
Essential Duties:
- Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with the Construction field.
- Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic tools and in a safe manner.
- Dig, spread and level dirt and gravel using a pick and shovel.
- Lift, carry and hold building materials and supplies
- Clean tools, equipment, materials and work areas, including sweeping, mopping and other general clean-up activities.
- Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco through hose to clean, coat or seal surfaces.
- Stop operations (Stop Work Authority) if you find any hazardous conditions.
- Maintain constant means of communication with supervision.
- Be prepared to operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors and hose carts at any time.
- Always stay on the jobsite while work is being completed.
- Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

- Rain Coat or Poncho
- Steel toed or Composite toed Work Boots
Qualifications:
- This is an entry level position – however candidates with prior experience will be preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately with employees and customers.
- Must be able to successfully pass required Confined Space Entry training.
- Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.
- Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions as required by client and/or facility policy.
Physical/Site Requirements:
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
