Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate FULL-TIME Medication Technician (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in administering medications and providing essential support to residents or patients across various care settings, including assisted living communities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Duties
- Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients in accordance with healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Assist with medication preparation, including tube feeding and other specialized nutrition support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to assess patient health status
- Observe and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition promptly to nursing staff or healthcare providers
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including catheter care and other personal hygiene tasks
- Support patients with memory care needs by implementing specialized techniques for Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other cognitive impairments
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times
- Assist in medical procedures under supervision, such as catheterizations or other basic nursing tasks based on training and certification
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, hospice, home & community care settings to deliver holistic patient care
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the medication area and overall environment
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform basic nursing tasks such as catheter care and tube feeding support
- Excellent caregiving skills tailored to seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring memory or hospice care
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and best practices for safeguarding patient information
- Effective communication skills for working with diverse populations including elderly residents and individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced healthcare settings
- Flexibility to adapt to different shifts and care environments while maintaining a positive attitude
