Volunteer Engagement and Hotline Specialist
Grayson Crisis Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Volunteer Engagement and Hotline Specialist to support the agency’s volunteer program and crisis hotline services. This position assists with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, communication, and retention while also answering hotline calls and providing trauma-informed crisis support to survivors.
Responsibilities:
Assist with recruiting, screening, onboarding, training, scheduling, and supporting volunteers.
Maintain volunteer records, training documentation, schedules, and service hours.
Communicate with volunteers regarding agency needs, opportunities, events, expectations, and appreciation efforts.
Answer hotline calls and provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, information, and referrals.
Complete accurate and timely documentation of hotline calls, volunteer activities, and services provided.
Assist with donations, outreach, events, client support, and other agency needs as assigned.
Maintain client confidentiality, agency confidentiality, and professional boundaries at all times.
Work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, community partners, and agency leadership.
Qualifications:
Experience in volunteer services, victim services, social services, crisis response, or related work preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Ability to respond calmly and professionally during crisis situations.
Ability to work respectfully with survivors, volunteers, staff, and community members.
Must maintain confidentiality and follow agency policies and procedures.
Some evening, weekend, or flexible hours may be required.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
