What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grapple Truck Operator position at Grays Tree Service?
We are seeking a Grapple Truck Operator to join our team! This role primarily involves driving but also requires operating the truck crane and grapple attachment to safely load and unload logs, branches, and debris.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a manual grapple truck to haul wood, debris, and other materials to and from job sites.
- Safely operate a Knuckle Boom for loading and unloading.
- Load and unload logs, tree trunks, and branches using the grapple attachment.
- Perform cleanup at job sites to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Conduct routine vehicle and equipment maintenance, including checking fluids, bolts, filters, and greasing bearings.
- Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to the foreman or operations manager.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and be available for additional shifts as needed (e.g., storm cleanup or weekend jobs).
- Track inventory and prepare reports for management.
- Valid CDL license (Commercial Drivers License) is required.
- Experience operating grapple trucks, cranes, or similar heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects when necessary.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in all weather conditions.
