Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a crew of tree care professionals to ensure efficient and safe work practices.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment and encourage professional development among crew members.
- Oversee and participate in tree pruning, trimming, removal, and related services, ensuring all work meets company and industry standards.
- Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure all crew members are properly trained and equipped for each job.
- Operate and maintain tools and machinery, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and bucket trucks; conduct regular equipment checks and maintenance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on job sites, communicating job progress and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Assess job sites for hazards and scope of work, and develop detailed work plans to ensure timely and safe project execution.
- Identify tree species, diagnose potential issues such as disease or structural concerns, and apply proper care techniques.
- Train and support new crew members in technical skills and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience in tree care operations, including pruning, trimming, and removal.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage workflow and supervise teams on active job sites.
- Strong understanding of arboricultural practices, tree biology, and disease identification.
- First Aid and CPR certification (required).
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (preferred or required depending on equipment use).
- ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (preferred).
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights and around heavy machinery.
