Summary This position provides general clerical work and administrative support for District Court Adult Probation following well-established procedures. This position is supervised by the Adult Probation/Therapeutic Court Director Essential Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Serves as backup for the probation compliance officer. 2. General Filing. 3. Organizes/alphabetizes risk assessments for client monitoring. 4. Tracks non-compliance filings and pending court dates. 5. Responsible for updating forms and keeping documents stocked for use. 6. Scans and records closed files for required storage periods. 7. Schedules appointments as needed. 8. Prepares correspondence and documents for mailing. 9. Assists in maintaining detailed case records of offenders. 10. Responds to telephone, counter, and other inquires related to the office. 11. Maintain offender incarceration records and pending change in in custody status. 12. Track court docket relating to probation supervision orders. 13. Operate standard office equipment. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Legal office experience preferred. High school diploma or GED. Two years of office experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the work. A valid Washington State driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must pass a criminal background check. Must be bondable KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Ability to organize work and meet established deadlines. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, public officials and the general public. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Ability to learn and operate State computer system for Courts Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel. Skilled in the use of standard office machines and equipment. Skilled in attention to detail and accuracy. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with varying degrees of noise and temperament of people. Physical requirements include, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, a sense of touch, finger dexterity, ability to grip with hands and fingers, ability to hear voice conversation, ability to speak and the ability to read existing records in their original and stored formats. Occasionally, there is a need to lift up to 20 lbs.
