Position Overview/Description:
The Regional Safety Manager (RSM) will be primarily responsible for monitoring, auditing, reporting, and enhancing safe practices within our facilities and on project sites. In addition, the RSM will provide training for our operational personnel and essential clients in GrayMar's Southeast & Southern-Central work areas of FL, AL, TX, & NM.
Residency in/near the area is required due to the consistent need for travel between our GrayMar offices and their work sites.

The full-time RSM (Regional Safety Manager) is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all FL, AL,TX, & NM area employees. Tasks include using safety research to produce plans/processes that eliminate workplace hazards, documenting accidents in the workplace and investigating the circumstances of an illness or injury. Provide safety guidance and training for others in matters related to remediation services and HAZWOPER operations. Works under general supervision of the Director of Health & Safety, with latitude for the use of safe project-planning and independent judgment as needed to protect GrayMar.
The RSM must stay updated with the best practices in health and safety, and consistently implement these practices in the workplace and field operations; maintain compliance with all client-required safety regulations and ensure that every member of GrayMar complies with the federal and state regulated standards to include FL, AL, TX, & NM OSHA
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction to the [DEPARTMENT] teams and model GrayMar values.
Ensure each employee is prepared and educated in safe work practices.
Develop, coach, train, and promote employees. Provide ongoing feedback and motivation, including performance goals.
Monitor the remediation/removal of biological, physical, or chemical hazards from worksites and office locations.
Provide effective safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures and practices.
Advise GrayMar's response teams and management on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations.
Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations, especially client-required and states of FL, AL, TX, & NM.
Maintain accurate and current records and documentation in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, MSHA, and other sectional guidelines.
Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to introduce changes that lead to a safer environment for GrayMar employees.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Monitor the remediation/removal of biological, physical, or chemical hazards from worksites and office locations.

Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations, especially NV-DIR, Cal-OSHA, ADOSH, & UOSH
Maintain accurate and current records and documentation in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other guidelines.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a Safety related field preferred, or years of work equivalent experience
5 years of direct experience in an Occupational Health & Safety Program Management or HazMat, HAZWOPER, Emergency Response or EHS Compliance role.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and practices.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
Continuous coursework/certifications in safety, hazardous materials, SMS, i.e., OSHA500/501/5600, SSHO, HAZWOPER /HazMat, ISO45001, or NSC & NFPA certifications and associated safety training showing continual learning.
Train-the-Trainer coursework/certifications a plus
