Position Summary
This position serves as the primary point of contact for all preconstruction efforts within the organization. Responsibilities range from initial contact with GC for scope/schedule information, coordinating with other estimators and project teams, reaching out to subs/vendors for pricing, building and reviewing final estimates, creating bid forms and scope letters for final submittals, and maintaining progress status of all projects that the organization is pursuing.

Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.
Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime will be required. Travel will be required.

- Reviews data and drawings to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists of cost estimates
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, change order pricing, vendors or subcontractors agreement, and determining cost effectiveness
- Consults with customers, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates
- Interaction with subcontractors to help maintain bid list and contact information
- Serves as the main point of contact for all preconstruction efforts, pursuing new opportunities for the organization
- Reaches out in a “precon” manner to the estimating and project teams to facilitate projects being awarded
