Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Per Diem Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, immediate medical care to patients across a wide range of urgent health concerns. You will work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment, utilizing your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients efficiently. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Diagnose acute illnesses and injuries across diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adults.
- Administer treatments such as laceration repair, incision and drainage of abscess, joint injections, fracture reductions
- Manage patient care plans, including medication administration and wound care, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) system AthenaHealth for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records.
- Provide patient education on health management, medication use, and follow-up care instructions.
Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure with valid certification in your state.
- Proven experience in urgent care or emergency medicine environments; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation tools: point of care testing and X-ray.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards for accurate record keeping.
