Job Summary/Description:
We are looking for someone who loves news and is ready to embed themselves into a local market where they will be a featured main anchor for the top-rated weeknight 10p newscasts. This person will turn 3 to 4 local stories per week and will produce the newscast one night per week. This position requires work on normal TV newscasts and a very robust digital effort including live shows that also air on digital products. This position is based in KLTV's Tyler studios.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Anchor M-F 10p newscasts.
- Reporting on digital platforms via FaceTime or Skype.
- Shooting, writing, and editing 3-4 news packages per week along with other video items for TV and digital products.
- Occasional copy editing and providing feedback to reporter stories.
- Writing online stories.
- Potential for occasional live reporting on air and online.
- Produce 10p Newscast on Friday evenings.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Journalism degree or similar is preferred.
- Anchoring experience is strongly preferred.
- A strong college program or professional experience working on camera is strongly preferred.
- Professional video camera and professional non-linear editing knowledge.
- Strong interest and study of local, state, and national news stories.
