Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cleaner to help maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of our public market space. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, safe, and sanitary environment for vendors, guests, and staff. The Cleaner will be responsible for routine cleaning of common areas, restrooms, and shared spaces throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize public restrooms regularly throughout shifts
- Sweep, mop, and maintain floors in common areas, hallways, and seating areas
- Empty trash and recycling bins and replace liners
- Wipe and sanitize high-touch surfaces such as tables, counters, door handles, and railings
- Maintain cleanliness of shared seating areas and event spaces
- Monitor and restock restroom supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, soap)
- Assist with light cleaning before and after events as needed
- Report maintenance issues, spills, or safety concerns promptly
- Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are used and stored properly
Qualifications
- Previous cleaning or custodial experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment
- Ability to work independently and stay on task
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
Schedule
- Flexible shifts available
- Evening and weekend availability may be required
- Hours may increase during events or busy market days
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
