Position Overview
Most ERP projects fail the people who have to live with them. (ERP is the core software that runs a company — finance, inventory, orders, production, all in one place.) The system goes in, the consultants leave, and the operators on the floor quietly go back to spreadsheets. Gray Matter Logic exists to break that pattern. We help small and mid-sized businesses across the US — manufacturers, distributors, industrial and food-and-beverage operators — replace systems their people work around with systems their people actually use.
We're looking for a motivated, digitally sharp Inside Sales Representative to join our sales team in Chandler, Arizona. This is a full-time, in-office role for someone early in their career who wants to learn how real businesses run and how to help fix them. You'll research target accounts, build a point of view on what's broken in their operations, and open conversations that earn our Account Executives a seat at the table — across our three ERP practices: IFS, Acumatica, and Odoo. Never heard of those? Good. We'll teach you the software cold — what we can't teach is curiosity, hustle, and the instinct to compete.
Be clear-eyed about the work: this is high-volume, front-line prospecting. Calls, emails, research, repeat. The reason it's worth doing is that the businesses on the other end are real, the problems are real, and the people who learn to open these conversations well don't stay at entry level for long. This role is built as a launchpad into a closing seat, and we mean it.
What You'll Do
Gray Matter Logic is an ERP consulting firm specializing in IFS, Acumatica, and Odoo. We don't sell software — we help small and mid-sized businesses solve hard operational problems through disciplined implementation, expert consulting, and measurable change. Our work is guided by a simple standard: ERP your people will actually use. If that sounds like a mission worth selling, we should talk.

What You'll Do
- Research target accounts using modern OSINT and AI tools (Google, Perplexity, Sales Navigator, Clay, AI assistants)
- Build an account thesis from filings, job postings, tech stacks, news, and leadership changes — focused on what's actually breaking in how the business operates
- Identify buying signals and trigger events that point to an ERP evaluation or operational overhaul
- Write personalized, insight-led outreach that opens with a point of view about their business, not a generic pitch about software
- Run outbound prospecting by phone, email, and LinkedIn to generate qualified meetings
- Set discovery appointments for the AE team across all three ERP practices
- Qualify inbound leads and route them to the right Account Executive
- Learn how businesses run — operations, finance, supply chain — and how IFS, Acumatica, and Odoo solve those problems
- Keep activity and pipeline data clean and current in the CRM
- Qualified discovery appointments set for the Account Executive team
- Quality and specificity of your account research — can you say something true about a business that its own leaders would nod at?
- Daily and weekly outbound activity (calls, emails, LinkedIn)
- Lead qualification accuracy and conversion to discovery meetings
- CRM hygiene and data quality
- Growth in business and ERP fluency, and in sales skill
- Bachelor's degree (completed or expected by start date)
- Demonstrated ability to use modern research and AI tools to find information and act on it
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Competitive drive and a real desire to build a career in sales
- Comfort with high-volume, phone-based outreach and the rejection that comes with it
- Ability to work full-time in our Chandler, Arizona office
- Genuine curiosity about how businesses operate — manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, finance
- Experience with Apollo.io, Sales Navigator, or similar sales-intelligence tools
- Internship or part-time experience in sales, business development, or any customer-facing role
- Coursework or interest in business operations, supply chain, finance, or information systems
- Competitive athletics, student organizations, or leadership roles — anything that shows you compete and finish
- Business curiosity — Genuine interest in how companies actually run, and what makes them break
- Digital research skills — Fluency with modern OSINT, AI, and prospecting tools
- Coachability — Takes feedback and gets measurably better, fast
- Grit — Resilience through rejection and high-volume outreach
- Communication — Clear, confident, and professional in every interaction
- Competitive drive — Wants to hit the number and beat it
- Competitive base salary plus performance incentives
- Health care (medical, dental & vision), 401(k), life insurance, flexible time off
- Short- and long-term disability, training & development
- Structured sales training and direct mentorship from senior sales leadership
