Bookkeeper – JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Bookkeeper
Job Summary / Purpose:
To be part of a team at a public accounting firm and provide bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting services to multiple clients.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Bookkeeping:
- Set up new and existing clients in QuickBooks.
- Provide data entry and processing of client cash receipts and cash disbursements
- Downloading and coding of bank transactions and credit card transactions
- Reconciliation of bank statements and credit card statements
- Enter and process client payroll in QuickBooks in a timely manner
- Assist with chart of accounts
- Assist with adjusting journal entries
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements
- Reconcile and balance other necessary accounts for multiple clients
- Preparation and filing of 1099s for various clients
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- An associate degree in accounting, finance, or business is an advantage.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices
- Proficient with QuickBooks, Excel, Outlook, and Word
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Professional, organized and detail-oriented; ability to organize time, manage several activities and meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently and work cooperatively in a team setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
