Gray Analytics is seeking talented Model Based Systems Engineers (mid-level and senior) to support the development of innovative designs across multiple advanced technology programs. We are looking for self-starters with strong communication skills who can identify customer needs, address complex challenges, and develop effective system-level solutions.
In this role, you will contribute to requirements development and control, milestone planning, deliverables tracking, and contract compliance. You will work with digital engineering tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw and IBM DOORS, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, engage with customers during reviews and working sessions, and coordinate with suppliers and vendors.
This position supports a customer in Huntsville, Alabama, with a hybrid work environment (in-office and remote). Work may also include time at government facilities, integration labs, and hypersonic test sites. Travel is less than 10%.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of system architectures, requirements, and specifications
- Collaborate with stakeholders and domain experts to ensure designs meet customer needs
- Conduct trade studies to evaluate design alternatives and optimize performance, cost, and requirements
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements
- Utilize MBSE tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, IBM DOORS, and others
- Support preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation
- Participate in design reviews and testing activities
Basic Qualifications
Mid-Level Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar)
- 5 years of systems engineering experience on government programs
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
Senior Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar)
- 10 years of systems engineering experience on government programs
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance
For Both Levels:
- Experience with MBSE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, etc.)
- Understanding of systems engineering processes and lifecycle
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated with a growth mindset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- U.S. Citizenship required
