Hours Required – this internship requires a minimum 120 hours over the course of at least 8 weeks. Working 10-15 hours per week is preferred. This is an in-office position, and work will be performed at our office in Harrisonburg, VA.
About the Role – As a member of our creative team, the Graphic Design Intern will collaborate closely with our creative team and digital strategist to create engaging digital ads and social media content.
This role is perfect for someone who’s quick, curious, and energized — someone who loves trying new ideas, spotting emerging trends, and creating content that feels timely, culturally aware, and fun.
Qualifications & Skills

Must-Haves:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) or strong skills in Canva and mobile content tools
- Excellent eye for design, composition, and visual storytelling – with the ability to apply brand systems quickly and flexibly across multiple content formats
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to clearly express ideas, listen actively, and collaborate effectively with teammates and clients
- Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn and experiment with new formats, styles, and ideas
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and adapt visual assets across a range of needs – from social graphics and video elements to presentations and brand assets
- Create social media content (posts, captions, stories, etc.) aligned with strategic goals.
- Edit and adapt content for different channels and formats.
- Stay current on social media trends, creative tools, and emerging content formats.
- Contribute to internal projects that showcase Gravity’s expertise and culture.
