The accounting department plays a crucial role in ensuring that Gravitec Systems Inc. can fulfill its mission. We are presently looking for a well-organized and strong leader in our accounting department to initiate and implement new systems.

The Director of Finance will lead the accounting department and be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail oriented, knowledgeable of accounting principles, best practices and possess the ability to prioritize tasks. Having a background of demonstrated interpersonal skills that showcase effective delegation and communication is also if great importance in this role.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership to provide financial analysis and recommendations that support business growth and decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the integrity of our accounting system and ensuring all accounting and finance responsibilities are completed with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures accounting practices that are in compliance with professional standards while looking for ways to improve process and efficiency.
  • Ability to manage day to day operations of accounting projects.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, year-end and individual balance sheets, profit/loss statements, cash flow statements and other financial reports.
  • Develop controls and processes to ensure coordination of all financial systems to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end and year end close as well as local, state and federal reporting and tax filings.
  • Solid knowledge of and experience with GAAP.
  • Prior experience with multi-state sales tax and business licensing requirements.
  • Budget and forecast planning for the organization. Plan and perform audit reviews as needed.
  • Perform other specialized accounting functions as needed.
  • The ideal Candidate will have experience with SAP Business 1.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Management experience required.
  • Confident and articulate in written and verbal communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact directly with clients and professionals of all levels.
  • Be effective at building collaborative relationships, functioning as part of a team as well as working independently.
  • Computer knowledge, including proficiency in excel and an understanding and ability to learn our accounting software (SAP)
