Job Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to deliver exceptional service to our walk-in and phone-in clients. In this role, you will guide customers through the purchasing process, answer technical product inquiries, and proactively promote our inventory. You will play a key role in driving sales by staying up-to-date on our product offerings, promotions, and recommending the right solutions for every project.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Greet and assist customers in a professional, courteous manner, guiding them through the sales and ordering process.
- Product Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product catalogs, price sheets, current promotions, and advertisements.
- Consultative Selling: Actively market company products, offering expert recommendations and suitable alternative or substitute items when appropriate.
- Inquiry Resolution: Respond promptly and accurately to client inquiries regarding product availability, specifications, and pricing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Industry Knowledge: Electrical knowledge preferred
- Education & Computer Skills: High School diploma (or equivalent). College preferred. Proficient with basic PC navigation, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Core Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong customer service orientation, and a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Math & Organization: Strong basic mathematical ability; excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Physical Dexterity: Ability to bend, climb, push, pull, and maneuver safely at heights or in tight spaces.
- Heavy Lifting: Ability to routinely lift, carry, and transport materials weighing up to 70 lbs., with occasional lifting exceeding 70 lbs.
- Workstation Use: Ability to regularly operate a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
