Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, verify information, and prepare them for examination.
- Obtain and document patient history, including medical, ocular, and medication information.
- Measure visual acuity, pupillary responses, intraocular pressure, and perform refraction when required.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, fundus photography, keratometry, and topography.
- Administer eye drops and topical medications as directed by the physician.
- Maintain exam rooms, instruments, and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and calibration.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, post-procedure care, and use of medications.
- Document all findings, procedures, and patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Manage patient flow to ensure timely and efficient clinic operations.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing support, and supply inventory as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in ophthalmology or optometry preferred.
- Proficiency in ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
Education:
- Current certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Assistant (COMT/COA).
- High School Diploma or equivalent
