We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented in-person Per Diem Medical Scribe to assist orthopedic surgeons and providers with real-time clinical documentation in clinic and surgical settings. The ideal candidate will have strong medical terminology knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to accurately document patient encounters while maintaining HIPAA compliance. This role is ideal for pre-medical, medical, PA, or healthcare-focused individuals interested in gaining hands-on orthopedic and surgical experience.
Responsibilities
Accurately document patient histories, physical examinations, assessments, and treatment plans during orthopedic clinic visits
Assist providers with real-time charting and completion of medical documentation
Prepare and organize patient charts, imaging reports, and operative notes
Document procedures including injections, fracture care, PRP treatments, arthroscopy, joint replacement, and other orthopedic interventions
Assist with operative report documentation and post-operative paperwork when needed
Review charts for completeness and ensure proper medical terminology and coding support
Coordinate with clinical staff to improve workflow efficiency
Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Perform additional administrative and clinical support duties as assigned
Qualifications
Prior medical scribe or healthcare experience preferred
Strong understanding of medical terminology; orthopedic terminology preferred
Experience with EMR systems preferred (ECW experience is a plus)
Excellent typing speed and attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Strong communication and professionalism
Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible in-person hours
Interest in orthopedics, sports medicine, surgery, or healthcare careers preferred
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with orthopedic conditions and imaging
