AutoCAD Drafter 2-3 years experience required

Grating Systems is looking for a Production Detailer that loves to be very accurate in producing drawings for fabrication! If you love to use AutoCAD, then this is the job for you! What your week might look like as a DTL1…..

• Review E files of drawings, specifications, and addendums
• Prepare customer submittal drawings
• Review customer approvals and make changes as necessary
• Prepare shop drawings and cut, fab and packing lists for shop use
• Check stock inventory and if needed prepare list of materials needed for purchasing for upcoming projects
• Become familiar with shop procedures to provide information on drawings that assure correct fabrication
• Nest parts to be cut on our CNC machine
• Go to job sites to take field measurements

You’ll be best suited for this position if you have…..

• General computer skills in a Windows10 environment
• Experience with MS office tools, including Excel (required)
• Experience using AutoCAD (required)
• Spatial thinking / visualization
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and stay on task
• Ability to read and understand project design drawings
• Experience with 3D modeling is a plus

• Can detail and check all small and medium projects
• Demonstrates initiative in meeting the schedule and is completing work on time as scheduled 98% of the time.
• Proficient with CAD and other Detailing programs and knows how to manipulate programs to obtain accurate output.
• Requires less direct supervision. Minimal supervision on keeping up with their schedule.
• Identifies areas of improvement within the Department and proactively tries to improve them.

Yearly Salary: $45-$80K with full benefits; commensurate with experience.

This position leads to the DTL2 position with a higher pay range, and more accountability.
