Housekeeper / Family Assistant

We are a busy family of four looking for someone who enjoys creating clean, organized, well-run homes.

Both parents own businesses, and with two young boys, we've realized we simply don't have enough time to keep our home running the way we'd like. We're looking for someone who takes pride in helping a family stay ahead of the day-to-day responsibilities of home life.

This position combines housekeeping, organizing, errands, and occasional family assistance. Every day is a little different, and we're looking for someone who enjoys that variety.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping

• Clean bathrooms, showers, and toilets
• Dust, vacuum, mop, and maintain floors
• Clean kitchen, countertops, appliances, and sinks
• Change bed linens
• Empty trash and recycling
• Keep the home clean throughout the week
• General housekeeping as needed

Laundry

• Put away clean laundry after it returns from our laundry service
• Organize closets and dressers
• Help rotate seasonal clothing

Organization

• Organize closets, drawers, cabinets, pantry, and storage areas
• Help maintain organized systems throughout the home
• Work with us to create organization that fits how our family lives

Errands

• Grocery shopping
• Returns and exchanges
• Pick up household supplies
• Vehicle service appointments
• Post office and package drop-offs
• Occasional errands for our short-term rental properties

Meal Support

• Grocery shopping
• Light meal preparation
• Help keep the pantry and refrigerator stocked

Family Support

• Occasional school pickup
• Spend an hour with our boys after school when schedules require it
• Help keep backpacks, toys, and school items organized

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?

We're looking for someone who naturally notices what needs to be done.

If the bathroom needs cleaned, you clean it.

If the pantry is getting low, you let us know.

If the laundry arrives, you put it away.

If you notice the van is due for an oil change, you mention it and help coordinate getting it serviced.

If a space in the house keeps becoming cluttered, you don't simply move the clutter—you help us create a better system for keeping it organized.

We appreciate someone who is proactive while also respecting our preferences. Before making major organizational changes, we'd rather you ask questions so we can build systems that work for our family.

What We're Looking For

• Reliable and trustworthy
• Comfortable cleaning an entire home
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Self-starter who doesn't need constant direction
• Comfortable around children
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Able to lift 25 pounds

Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, nannying, or household management is preferred but not required.

Schedule

• 10–15 hours per week
• Flexible weekday schedule
• Some afternoon availability is helpful but not required
