Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough client assessments, including diagnostic evaluations using DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding standards, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to foster recovery and resilience.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to ensure client safety and stabilization during emergencies or acute episodes.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that incorporate addiction counseling, mental health counseling, case management, and family or child counseling when applicable.
- Maintain accurate, detailed clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, medical documentation standards, and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) management systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, and community care providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection efforts to enhance treatment efficacy and support evidence-based practice initiatives.
Skills
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis.
- Strong experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions across diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Skilled in client assessment in therapy settings, utilizing diagnostic tools like DSM-5 for mental health evaluation.
- Proficient in crisis management, crisis intervention strategies, and behavioral health interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, CPT coding, ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10), and working within EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, education, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements for maintaining patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information.
- REQUIREMENTS:
- A current and valid certification with the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists required, minimum Trainee Certification required. Pay: $35.00 - $47.00 per hour
