Graphic Mailbox is a community-oriented pack and ship business that has proudly served Northfield for nearly 30 years. Located on the edge of downtown Northfield, we work with all major carriers including FedEx, UPS, USPS, and DHL to meet our customers' shipping needs.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Shipping Clerk to join our team. This part-time position involves assisting customers with their shipping needs, preparing and processing packages, operating office equipment, and maintaining the store's cleanliness and organization. This role is approximately 90% face-to-face customer service, making interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor essential. NOTE: if you've got graphics experience – we do that, too, and this could be a crossover position.
SCHEDULE
Part-time hours within the following timeframes:
- Weekdays: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Saturdays: 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with shipping needs
- Pack items securely and appropriately for shipment
- Weigh packages and create shipping labels accurately
- Scan customer-affixed labels and process packages for major carriers
- Handle payments and operate point-of-sale (POS) system
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including till management
- Manage retail inventory and sales
- Operate office equipment
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization
- Work both independently and as part of a team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Friendly demeanor and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Ability to lift and move packages (up to 40lbs unassisted)
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Strong communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior shipping or retail experience (we will train the right candidate)
- Point-of-sale (POS) system experience
- Basic computer proficiency
