DRAFTER – CUSTOM SIGN PRINTS
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Drafter to join our team and help bring custom sign designs to life through precision technical drawings. This role is essential in translating creative concepts into clear and accurate fabrication drawings that drive our production process. Proficiency in CorelDRAW is highly valued, as it is a primary tool in our workflow. While familiarity with Inventor or other CAD programs is helpful.
Our environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, with project timelines that often shift based on client needs and evolving priorities. The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, and thrives in a setting where flexibility and responsiveness are key to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Custom Sign Prints: Create detailed, accurate drawings for custom sign designs based on input from designers, sales reps, and clients.
- CorelDRAW Expertise: Use CorelDRAW daily to produce precise art files for production. Familiarity with additional CAD programs (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD) is a bonus for training on CorelDraw.
- Material Collaboration: Work with design, purchasing, and project management teams to recommend materials that balance cost-efficiency with durability.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all drawings meet internal standards, site survey details, client expectations, and regulatory guidelines.
- Cross-Team Communication: Collaborate with production, estimating, and fabrication teams to clarify project needs and resolve technical issues.
- Documentation: Maintain and organize up-to-date files, revisions, and drawing records.
- Adaptability & Problem Solving: Address design and production challenges proactively and offer creative solutions.
- Deadline Management: Meet multiple project deadlines and adjust quickly as timelines shift.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or diploma in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in drafting—experience in sign design or fabrication is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in CorelDRAW is plus; knowledge of Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks is helpful.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with signage materials, construction methods, and industry standards is a plus.
