Sign Production Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Sign Production Technician to join our interior and exterior signage department. This role is responsible for interpreting blueprints, preparing production files, producing vinyl graphics, and assisting with both in‑shop and onsite installations. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints to identify sign types, dimensions, materials, and vinyl requirements.
- Prepare production files by dissecting artwork, separating layers, and organizing files into print‑ready and cut‑ready formats.
- Operate vinyl plotters and large‑format printers to produce high‑quality graphics.
- Weed and mask vinyl to prepare graphics for installation.
- Apply vinyl to substrates including aluminum, acrylic, PVC, and other materials.
- Assist with onsite installations on walls, windows, and existing structures.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow safety procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with vinyl cutting, weeding, masking, or sign production preferred (will train the right candidate).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with design or sign‑making software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Comfortable with hands‑on, physical work including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license for occasional onsite installations.
Preferred Experience
- Previous work in sign shops, print shops, fabrication, or related trades.
- Experience installing vinyl on walls, windows, or vehicles.
- Knowledge of substrates, adhesives, and sign materials.
Pay: $24.55 - $28.00 per hour
