Technical Operations Specialist

Graphic Business Solutions, Inc.
El Cajon, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 12/30/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/29/2026
Description

The Role

Markful is looking for a highly capable, hands-on Technical Operations Specialist to keep our technology, production systems, automation, and physical workspace running smoothly. This role sits at the intersection of IT, manufacturing, automation, and facilities — if something breaks, slows down, or needs to be improved, you’re the one people call.

This is not a desk-only role and not a people-management role. It’s a do-the-work, solve-the-problem role for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and tangible impact.

What You’ll Own

Technology & IT

  • Workstation setup, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
  • Printers, scanners, label machines, network basics
  • User access, permissions, and internal tooling support
  • System troubleshooting and application problem solving
  • Software testing and validation for internal systems

Automation & Systems

  • Maintain and improve internal automations (Zapier, scripts, workflows, etc.)
  • Monitor and flag issues early
  • Help document and stabilize repeatable processes

Production & Equipment

  • First-line support for production systems, machines, and tools
  • Coordinate maintenance, calibration, and vendor support
  • Reduce downtime through proactive checks and fixes

Facilities & Workspace

  • Own the physical reliability of the workspace
  • Desk setups, cabling, power, layout improvements
  • Coordinate repairs, installs, and light improvements
  • Promote and own organization and cleanliness throughout the workspace

Operational Glue

  • Be the connective tissue between tech, production, and ops
  • Spot inefficiencies and propose fixes
  • Keep things organized, documented, and improving

Requirements

This Role Is a Good Fit If You…

  • Prefer doing the work over talking about the work
  • Are energized by solving real, messy problems with no perfect instructions
  • Can troubleshoot software, hardware, equipment, and physical spaces without panic
  • Are comfortable being the person others rely on when something breaks
  • Take ownership and follow issues through to completion
  • Can switch contexts easily — laptop one minute, production floor the next
  • Are organized enough to document what you fix so it doesn’t break again
  • Communicate clearly without jargon or ego
  • Don’t need constant direction to be effective

You Will Struggle in This Role If You…

  • Prefer clearly defined, narrow responsibilities
  • Need step-by-step instructions for every task
  • Avoid physical or hands-on work
  • Get frustrated by ambiguity or incomplete information
  • Expect others to own problems you discover
  • Are looking for a people-management or strategy-only role
  • Rely heavily on tickets, escalation paths, or committees to make progress
  • Believe any task is “not your job” — this role ranges from simple, unglamorous fixes to critical technical and production systems support

If this sounds intimidating, this role will not be a good fit. If it sounds exciting, you'll probably thrive here.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience supporting technology, operations, or production environments
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of computers, peripherals, tools, or equipment
  • Ability to independently assess problems and implement practical solutions
  • Experience working in environments where uptime and reliability matter
  • Comfort documenting setups, fixes, and repeatable processes

Strongly Preferred (But Not Required)

  • Manufacturing, print, or industrial operations exposure
  • Automation or workflow tooling experience (Zapier, scripts, integrations)
  • Software testing, QA, or internal system validation
  • Light facilities or equipment maintenance experience

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a people-management role
  • Not a pure IT helpdesk position
  • Not a software-engineering role
  • Not facilities-only maintenance

This role sits at the intersection of technology, operations, production, and facilities and is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and tangible impact.
