Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting applications for the following position for the 2026-2027 school year:

OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance position performs a variety of duties in maintenance, construction, repair, warehouse, as assigned by the maintenance supervisor. On occasion, this position may be required to lead a crew. It is desired that the Maintenance position have journeyman experience in at least one trade (i.e.; carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, grounds work, etc.). Proper licensing and certification will be required on some occasions (i.e.; IPM Certification).
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
2. Experience in general construction and/or maintenance work, involving some driving of light trucks or other equipment, sheetrock finishing, concrete finishing, carpet & vinyl repair, roofing, painting and framing.
3. Possession of a current Oregon Driver’s license.
4. Knowledge of basic operations, tools and terms used in building and maintenance work; methods and practices followed in maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment.
5. Ability to perform heavy work; follow oral and written instructions; establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students, fellow employees and the general public.
6. Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish preferred.
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen required. Prior to a final job offer being extended to an applicant, the applicant must show proof of successful completion of a Pre-Employment Functional Exam.
- Upon selection, employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $75 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $23.08-$33.34 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
- Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees)
- Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees
- 6 paid holidays per year
- 2 personal days per year
- 12 paid sick leave days per year
- Bereavement leave, as per bargaining agreement
- Continuing Education Funds, up to $1,200 per year
- Up to $1,624 per month district-paid contribution toward full-family medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- $4,534 per year insurance opt-out stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan (more than 6-hour employees), $4,080.60 (4–6-hour employees)
- 6% employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
- Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($1,000-$1,600).
