The Gospel Rescue Mission is seeking a Retail Assistant Manager for our Second Chance Thrift Stores. This isn't just a retail job; it’s a foundational role in our ministry. We don’t just sell clothes and furniture—we fund life-changing programs that rescue people from poverty in Jesus' name. You'll be a customer service rockstar, a logistics specialist, and a mentor for residents as they develop the skills necessary to become independent.
What You’ll Do
- Retail & Production Excellence: Lead the charge in the production room, ensuring every donation is processed with excellence and priced accurately to maximize funding for the Mission.
- Resident Mentorship: Actively mentor Mission residents, helping them develop the work ethic, emotional intelligence, and professional skills they need to rebuild their lives.
- Superior Customer Engagement: Provide a welcoming, Christ-like environment for every customer and donor, handling transactions and relations with high professionalism.
- Logistics & Stewardship: Operate Mission vehicles to safely execute donation pickup routes, serving as a gracious ambassador for our reputation in the community.
What We’re Looking For
- A Devoted Follower of Jesus: You have a strong, active relationship with Christ, are involved in a local church, and stand firmly with our Statement of Faith.
- A Relational Leader: You possess the "servant’s heart" of a leader, capable of balancing grace with accountability when mentoring residents.
- Retail Proficiency: You understand the flow of retail, from POS systems to visual merchandising and warehouse safety.
- Physical Stamina & Reliability: You are ready to jump in wherever needed—whether that’s moving heavy furniture, navigating local delivery routes, or running the register.
- Legal Requirements: You must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be able to pass a background check.
