We are seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Asset & Portfolio Manager. This role is responsible for leading the management of IT assets and applications across a global enterprise. Working to ensure effective governance, lifecycle and portfolio management, as well as strategic alignment with firm policies and objectives. In addition to overseeing asset and application portfolios, the Manager provides leadership (direct and/indirect) to a team of asset management professionals, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with senior stakeholders to optimize the firm’s technology investments.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management
Provide strategic oversight of both hardware and software asset management practices across the global enterprise
Lead governance processes and manage the software demand pipeline for the organization.
Define and manage processes across the asset lifecycle—selection, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, retirement, and disposal.
- Maintain a complete catalog of IT assets and entitlements, ensuring data accuracy at all stages.
Coordinate deployment and reclamation efforts with internal stakeholders.
Manage software request intake and fulfillment
Oversee vendor portals and software-as-a-service (SaaS) license management.
Generate asset management reports and conduct reviews to ensure regulatory compliance.
Support risk and compliance initiatives for hardware and software assets.
Mentor and manage a team of asset management professionals, providing guidance and performance feedback.
Portfolio Management
Work closely with business partners to ensure application portfolios align with firm capabilities and needs.
Act as a key point of contact for a portfolio of applications within the IT inventory.
Maintain up-to-date documentation and steward applications through firm application onboarding processes.
Evaluate application investments and identify redundancies or underutilized assets.
Partner with business owners on current/future application needs and support contract renewals.
Recommend and implement strategies to adapt to changing demand or market environments.
Keep technology roadmaps current based on portfolio changes.
Lead application rationalization initiatives and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
Provide leadership in cross-functional planning and decision-making forums.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Technology, or related field
- Experience: 5–7 years in IT asset management, IT portfolio management, IT demand and lifecycle management; prior leadership experience preferred
- Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of IT operating models, ITAM principles, and lifecycle planning
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication, analytical, and planning capabilities
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across business and technical teams
- Familiarity with advisory, audit, and tax industries or professional services operations is a plus
- Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, LeanIX, and Azure DevOps is highly desirable
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
- Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM)
- Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP)
The base salary range for this position in the firm’s Chicago, IL, Downers Grove, IL, Denver, CO, Reno, NV, Cleveland, OH and Baltimore, MD offices only is between $104,000 and $156,000 per year.
The base salary range for this position in the firm’s Washington, DC, Bellevue, WA, Los Angeles, CA, Newport Beach, CA San Diego, CA, Boston, MA, Iselin, NJ and New York, NY offices only is between $112,320 and $168,480 per year.
The base salary range for this position in the firm’s San Francisco, CA and San Jose, CA offices only is between $119,600 and $179,400 per year.
Salary : $104,000 - $156,000
