Prep Cook/Pastry Chef

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the position of Prep Cook and Pastry Chef/Baker. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently by preparing each stations food lists and designing/developing the dessert menu, baking bread, and other tasks as discussed in collaboration with the Executive Chef. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety practices and the ability to learn the prep methods quickly and produce perfectly. You will be the BOH favorite person!

Duties

• Lead all meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as needed for each station.
• Plan and prepare breads and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all food handling guidelines are followed.
• Ensure all food items are stored properly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Assist with inventory management, including tracking and helping make lists for ordering

Skills

• Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service.
• Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations within the food industry.
• Culinary experience with demonstrated knife skills is highly valued.
• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous for this role.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively
• Self-starter initiative and dependable

Schedule/Availability

• Daytime schedule is preferred
• Flexible days/work hours
• Typical work week could be 4 or 5 days
• Ideal work hours would be 7am to 3:30pm

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
