Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter - Mud Man to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying various paint coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on residential, commercial, and renovation projects. Your expertise in surface preparation, color matching, and finishing techniques will contribute to transforming spaces with precision and craftsmanship. Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint using hand tools, brushes, rollers, and airless or conventional spray equipment across residential and commercial sites
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and schematics to accurately execute painting plans and specifications
- Perform surface repairs such as drywall patching, stucco application, masonry work, and fixture installation to ensure a smooth finish
- Conduct surface preparation for industrial or renovation projects including power tool use and construction site safety protocols
- Follow safety regulations diligently by utilizing respiratory protection, proper scaffolding procedures, and adhering to all safety standards during application processes
- Assist with other construction tasks such as carpentry (trim and frame), concrete finishing, masonry work, or handyman duties as needed to support project completion
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting including residential, commercial, restoration, or industrial projects
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and basic math skills for measuring and material calculations
- Familiarity with color theory for accurate color matching and visual color comparison techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and spray equipment such as airless paint sprayers and conventional sprayers
- Understanding of construction site safety regulations including respiratory protection and proper handling of hazardous materials
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and renovation plans with precision
- Experience with surface preparation techniques like plastering, caulking, stucco application, drywall repair, and fixture installation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Additional experience in carpentry (trim or frame), masonry, welding or maintenance is a plus but not required
