 WORK SCHEDULE AFTER INITIAL TRAINING COULD BE EITHER:
WEDNESDAY - SATURDAY 11:30 AM - 9:30 PM or
SUNDAY - WEDNESDAY 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The Community Living Support Aide provides direct support and assistance to clients receiving Supported Living services following the guidelines set forth in Individualized Instruction and Support Plans, which contributes to the well-being of citizens of Grant County with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs. This position supports the Agency mission, vision, value statements, and the goals of the Agency.

Directions In Community Living is a certified supported living agency, that provides support to individuals with developmental disabilities, and chronic mental illness.  This position will be required to work various hours and days of the week
 
The following examples of duties and accountabilities illustrate the general range of tasks assigned to the position but are not intended to define the limits of required duties.  Other essential duties may be assigned consistent with the general scope of the position. Employee must comply with all County and department policies, procedures, WAC's, or other regulatory bodies. 
 
  1. Assists with daily living skills such as grooming, toileting, eating, laundry, shopping and household upkeep.
  2. Assists with nutritional guidance including meal planning, food preparation, knowledge of special nutritional needs, and encourage healthy nutrition.
  3. Assists with transfers, ambulation and positioning. 
  4. Supports Individualized Instruction and Support Plans
  5. Supports clients with positive integration into their community.
  6. Interacts positively with the client’s family, advocates, guardians, case managers, employers, friends, and others.
  7. Promotes learning and growth with clients.
  8. Supports positive recognition of clients by themselves and with others.
  9. Actively participates in training and other meetings, whether in or out of office, as requested.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
 
  1. High School Diploma/GED;
  2. Be at least 18 years of age;
  3. Good written and spoken communication skills;  
  4. Basic personal computer operations skills including Word, Excel, Desktop Publishing;
  5. Valid Washington State Driver’s License: Must have a safe reliable vehicle with proof of automobile insurance; 
  6. Background Check: Must have an acceptable background report, at time of hire and every three years afterward;
  7. Driving Abstract: Must have an acceptable driving report;
  8. CPR/First Aid: Must acquire and maintain this certification in accordance to current WACs;
  9. HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and Blood Borne Pathogens: Must complete education upon hire; and
  10. Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Nursing Assistant Registration through Washington Department of Health.
Preferred 
  1. Previous experience and/or training working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health illnesses
  2. Knowledge of County and Agency policies and procedures 
 
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed inside but can be performed in varying temperatures.  Employee may be exposed to office supply odors or vapors.  Employee may also be exposed to sub-sanitary environments.

Physical Requirements
The physical abilities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, write, hear, speak, and lift up to 50 lbs. of unequal weight.   Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, peripheral, and depth perception.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Salary : $39,520 - $46,509
