The YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown has an opening for a passionate and dedicated gymnastics professional as the Preschool Gymnastics Coordinator as part of our department leadership team.
The primary responsibility is to provide safe, educational and enjoyable gymnastics classes, team and camp experiences to participants of a variety of ages. Gymnastics instruction will be based on the YUSA-Gymnastics Progressive program and USA Gymnastics Skills.
This is a part-time position working Sunday through Thursday, approximately 25hours per week. Morning shifts with additional afternoon shifts available.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching and coaching gymnastics
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching preschool gymnastics classes independently
- Leadership experience
- Possess strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
- Proficient use of tablets, computers and computer functions including Microsoft Windows and Office
Essential Functions:
- Plan structured class activities to stimulate the growth and development of participants utilizing YMCA values and the character development initiative
- Assures safety of program participants
- Maintains a safe environment; responsible for the supervision of their students within the class structure
- Intentionally communicates with parents/participants regarding the progress of the gymnast
- Maintains cleanliness of gymnastics area and sets up and cleans up before and after each class
- Write lesson plans to ensure classes run smoothly and each child has the opportunity for advancement
- Give suggestions/recommendations for obstacle courses
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings. Willingness to attend YMCA required trainings throughout employment
- Effectively communicate between staff, parents and supervisor
- Be willing to help assist in the running of the Preschool Gymnastics Exhibition and Fun Meet
This is a part-time, hourly position with an extensive benefit package that includes:
