Working within the Philanthropy Department, this role leads Community Campaign efforts, with a strong focus on Staff Campaign and Community Campaign Week initiatives. The coordinator collaborates with YMCA staff and branch leadership and helps foster a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.

This position also leads oversees volunteer engagement efforts, including recruitment, onboarding, recognition, and placement of volunteers. Additionally, the coordinator develops relationships with designated businesses and community partners to increase volunteer participation, sponsorship opportunities, business engagement, and philanthropic support for YMCA programs and initiatives.

Community Campaign & Philanthropy Leadership

Lead and execute The Granite YMCA's Community Campaign, with a strong focus on Staff Campaign and Community Campaign Week initiatives, ensuring branch fundraising goals are achieved or exceeded.

Implement campaign timelines and donor engagement strategies that are welcoming, inclusive, and aligned with YMCA values.

Partner with branch leadership and program staff to build and sustain a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.

Support branches in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to increase donor participation and community support.

Build authentic donor and volunteer relationships using a donor-centered, trust-based approach that connects philanthropic support to community impact.

Serve as a liaison between branches and the Philanthropy Department to support fundraising initiatives, sponsorships, donor engagement, and stewardship efforts.

Coordinate volunteer involvement for all donor events, Community Campaign activities, corporate engagement opportunities, and stewardship initiatives.

Strive to increase volunteer engagement and philanthropic support through strategic relationship building with individuals, businesses, and community organizations.

Volunteer Engagement & Leadership

Recruit volunteers for one-day, short-term, and long-term volunteer opportunities, ensuring alignment between volunteer interests, skills, and organizational needs.

Promptly respond to volunteer inquiries, conduct initial screenings, and support onboarding and placement processes.

Source volunteers through community partnerships, schools, businesses, online platforms, and internal YMCA networks.

Create, maintain, and expand the Togetherhood Program to increase member and community engagement through volunteer service and external to The Granite YMCA.

Publish and promote volunteer opportunities, websites, social media, e-newsletters, and other communication channels.

Co-facilitate volunteer training and orientation while ensuring adherence to Youth Protection and YMCA policies.

Share feedback and best practices with staff to strengthen volunteer experiences and program outcomes.

Develop strategies to increase volunteer recruitment, retention, engagement, and recognition across the Association.

Regular check in with volunteers to ensure support and awareness of their experience.

Community Partnerships & Philanthropy

Cultivate and strengthen relationships with community organizations, local businesses, and corporate partners to expand volunteerism and philanthropic support.

Identify opportunities and encourage, employee engagement, community service projects, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships.

Administration & Reporting

Align volunteer engagement initiatives with The Granite YMCA's strategic priorities.

Develop and execute a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.

Prepare monthly "Volunteer Mission Moment" stories and updates for organizational communications, including leadership reports, employee newsletters, and association-wide publications.

Maintain donor and volunteer databases, ensuring accuracy of records, placements, volunteer hours, campaign participation, and engagement activities.

Utilize donor and volunteer management systems to analyze trends, measure outcomes, and prepare reports for Senior Leadership, YMCA annual financials, Y-USA reporting, and other organizational needs.

Develop professionally as a cause-driven leader and remain informed of best practices in volunteer engagement, philanthropy, and community partnerships.

Serve as an active participant and leader on association-wide committees and special projects as assigned.

Regularly survey volunteers about their experience and impact.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or higher in non-profit management, communications, business management or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 3 years' experience in fundraising, volunteer management and a background in training staff; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

YMCA or non-profit experience as a staff member or volunteer is also preferred.

Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including Word, Excel and skills in database management and record keeping.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team culture.

Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
