Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Wastewater Specialist, which focuses on providing technical assistance and training to water and wastewater systems, assisting in source water protection planning, conducting compliance assessments, and supporting asset management initiatives. The position includes on-site visits to rural water and wastewater systems, facilitating workshops, and staying updated with regulatory developments to offer strategic assistance. Strong collaboration with community stakeholders and maintaining comprehensive documentation of activities will be essential responsibilities of this role.

Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in wastewater systems, source water protection, asset management practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in assessing wastewater system performance and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Training and Outreach: Ability to organize and deliver technical workshops, provide training, and facilitate stakeholder engagement.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, technical reports, and collaboration with diverse groups.
- Field Work: Comfort with conducting on-site assessments and inspections at various rural locations.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with wastewater system tools and software, as well as general computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in water or wastewater systems, certifications in relevant technical fields, and a background in environmental science or engineering.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally as needed.
