New graduates from teacher preparation programs who have not yet received their official teaching license should upload a conferral letter from their university in place of the license. The conferral letter must be on official university letterhead and must include:

- The type of license and content area(s) in which the candidate will be recommended to the Utah State Board of Education
- a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related field such as: Family & Consumer Sciences, Human Development & Family Studies, Food Science and Human Nutrition, Design & Merchandising, Behavioral Health;
- Have six (6) years of documented, related, full-time occupations experience (not teaching experience) within the ten (10) years prior to the application in a field such as: fashion buyer, fashion designer, preschool instructor, and/or child care. Documentation should be included on the resume indicating duties, responsibilities, and dates of employment.

- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom through organization and appropriate discipline strategies.
