What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator/Crew Leader position at Granite Peak Excavating and Construction?
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operator/Crew Leader to join our Excavation team. As a Operator/Crew Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of your assigned project. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with team members, owners, and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate excavation projects assigned to you
- Ensure that all work is completed on time and following quailty standards
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project managers
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accuracy
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Conduct regular inspections to identify any issues or potential risks
- Resolve any conflicts or disputes that may arise during construction
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs and reports
Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:
- Proven experience as a Operator/Crew Leader or similar supervisory role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of Excavation management software and tools
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team, while also staying in contact with and taking directions from owners
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, plans, and blueprints
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and subcontractors
