We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cable Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field service and telecommunications, with a focus on installing and maintaining cabling systems. This role requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency in computer networking, ensuring that all installations meet industry standards for quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot various types of cabling systems, including Ethernet and telecommunications wiring.
- Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to test and verify cable integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their networking needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working in various environments.
- Document installation processes, service reports, and any changes made during the installation.
- Work with Cisco routers and other networking equipment to establish reliable connections.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in field service or related roles within the telecommunications industry.
- Strong knowledge of cabling techniques and computer networking principles.
- Familiarity with testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Experience working with Cisco routers is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various settings.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- A valid driver’s license may be required for travel between job sites.
