Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or EF2 (Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary) to join our amazing dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering high-quality care across various dental specialties including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and medical documentation will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their treatment. The knowledge of Cerec, Itero and Prime Scan is very important in this practice.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments with precision and efficiency
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging using advanced tools like 3D scanners when applicable
- Manage patient records by accurately updating medical histories, documenting procedures in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, and ensuring HIPAA compliance for patient privacy
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA regulationsQualifications
- Valid license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or EF2 certification with current state registration
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry setting
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, for medical documentation and records management
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic procedures
- Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other imaging tools confidently
- Familiarity with infection control practices, sterilization processes, and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members across specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics
