ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:
Purchasing, Procurement & Asset Management
- Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures and best practices to support operational efficiency and cost control
- Lead strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations and data-driven initiatives to reduce costs and improve service quality
- Oversee buyers in product selection, RFP/RFQ development and bid evaluation, as well as contract drafting, negotiation, execution and tracking
- Evaluate suppliers and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance, reliability, quality and value; address performance issues and drive corrective action
- Manage Granger’s warranty program, including claim submission, tracking, approvals and vendor dispute resolution
- Ensure accurate purchasing operations through effective document control, inventory oversight, invoice approvals and record management; recommend technology improvements to enhance efficiency
- Supervise and support the purchasing team, providing leadership, coaching and hands-on assistance as needed while fostering strong cross-department collaboration
- Educate staff on waste reduction and purchasing efficiencies, including optimizing ordering volumes and practices
- Evaluate asset requests and recommend optimal solutions across refurbishment, used assets, new purchases and leasing or rental options
- Partner with the fleet director to manage asset lifecycle planning, positioning, logistics and long-term fleet strategy using data analysis and reporting
- Oversee asset acquisition and disposal of trucks, equipment and containers, ensuring compliance with agreements, financial controls and bookkeeping requirements
- Manage rental assets to support operational continuity in a cost-effective manner
- Maintain financial and operational reports related to maintenance, utilization, depreciation and overall asset performance while meeting all financial review timelines and corporate program requirements
- Stay current on industry trends, technology and advancements related to purchasing, inventory and asset management

Qualifications include the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business management or equivalent required
- Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certifications preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in purchasing, inventory and asset management within a fleet or operational environment, including supervisory or management responsibilities, preparation of RFPs/RFQs and the drafting, negotiation and implementation of purchasing contracts
- Proven experience managing data and utilizing software effectively including Microsoft products
- Accounting, purchasing and inventory software experience strongly preferred
