Landfill Operations and Grounds Maintenance
- Operate the following equipment, including conducting pre- and post-trip
- inspections and cleaning/maintaining as appropriate: water truck, off-road truck, loader, hydro-seeder and other equipment as necessary
- Visit identified locations and collect and record pump data using paper forms or other technology when available
- Walk the Granger grounds, including the landfill and the main public road, picking up loose trash
- Shovel dirt as needed in the landfill area
- Seed and lay erosion control materials in prepared areas.
- Shovel snow and apply ice melting material by hand and mechanical spreader.
- Assist crew in plastic pipe welding and placement in trenches.
- Operate the following equipment, including conducting pre- and post-trip inspections and cleaning/maintaining as appropriate: forklift to weigh and stack bales and load semi-trailers, skid steer to manage materials, baler, conveyor belt and other equipment
- Operate roll-off truck to service Recycling Center and Disposal Center containers.
- Guide vehicles entering and exiting the Recycling Center
- Perform housekeeping duties in the building and outside areas
- Perform production duties, as directed, for the sorting and processing of recyclable materials, such as cardboard, paper, plastic, glass, tin and aluminum
- Perform quality control to remove potential contaminants for the smooth flow of recyclable products leading to the formation of bales
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- One-year of related hydraulic equipment experience and/or training required
