Position Overview
As a Medical Assistant II in Pediatrics, you’ll work closely with physicians and support staff to provide high-quality care to pediatric patients and their families. Responsibilities include:
- Telephone triage and parent communication
- Insurance authorizations and prior approvals
- Recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, etc.)
- Administering immunizations
- Phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Maintaining exam rooms and managing documentation
- Medical Assistant Certification
- 1–2 years of medical office experience
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Dependable, flexible, and able to multitask
- Team-oriented with a willingness to support others
- Proficient in English; Spanish fluency strongly preferred
- Professional verbal and written communication with physicians, staff, and patients
- Record patient demographics and manage prior authorizations
- Prepare patients for exams and provide relevant clinical information
- Communicate with patients and families regarding appointments and care needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Repetitive motion from computer and office equipment use
- Indoor, climate-controlled environment
