GENERAL SUMMARY
To keep the presses clean and running by moving and stacking bundles neatly on skids.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manually moves bundles of paper onto a skid, stacks them neatly, and packs them into boxes. Operates strapper and stacker machines as required. Performs general cleaning of the press, including, but not limited to: vacuuming the folder, sweeping the floor around the press, cleaning water system, ink, and blankets. Responsible for counting copies to ensure that the machine is bundling the correct amount after operator signals that they are good, at shift change, when press speeds change, after a web break, and each hour on long versions. Confirms with operator that bundles are counted, lets supervisor and operator know if an error is found.
- Responsible for helping reduce errors by checking the copy to the skid tag and label for accuracy.
- Assists in preventative maintenance program.
- Locates proper skids for the job. Removes skids from pressroom with skid jack when they are full and/or completed.
- Assists helpers or press operators change plates by stacking old plates on a skid to be disposed of.
- Complies with safety standards and regulations required by OSHA/MiOSHA.
- Assists in web break recovery.
- Assembles packing boxes.
- Expected to correct all timecard errors via Paycom.
- Performs other tasks as requested.
