Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS and relay orders efficiently to the kitchen.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, upsell specials and beverages to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and food safety.
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns, and foster positive guest relations.
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing dishes, resetting tables quickly for new guests, and maintaining cleanliness standards in dining areas.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems, process payments, and give correct change while adhering to cash handling procedures.
- Maintain sanitation standards by following proper food handling protocols and ensuring cleanliness of service areas.
- Assist with food preparation or kitchen support when necessary, demonstrating versatility within the food industry.
- Use OpenTable or similar reservation systems to manage bookings smoothly during busy hours.
- Engage in suggestive selling techniques like upselling desserts or premium beverages to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service flow during peak hours or special events such as nightlife or private parties.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred, especially within fine dining or upscale venues.
- Familiarity with POS systems enhances efficiency but is not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Experience working in nightclubs, hospitality settings, or host/host roles demonstrates adaptability to fast-paced environments.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations are essential for creating positive experiences.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards ensures compliance with health regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously through excellent time management skills while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for cashiering and handling cash transactions confidently are required.
