What are the responsibilities and job description for the 25-26 Head Coach, Cross Country position at Grandview Middle School?
QUALIFICATIONS:
Have possession of or eligible for a Missouri Teacher Certification or a Missouri Substitute Teacher Certification
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal/Athletic Director
SUPERVISES:
20-25 student athletes
JOB GOAL:
To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the value of
discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coach individual student athletes in the skills necessary for excellence in chosen sport.
Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
Work with athletic director in scheduling, purchasing equipment, supplies, uniforms, etc.
Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, lineups, statistics, etc.
Establish performance criteria for eligibility for competition.
Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
Work closely with college recruiters through mail and phone calls.
Organize camps and clinics when appropriate.
Organize and oversee off-season conditioning.
Attend/participate in clinics to enhance knowledge and improve program.
DURATION OF POSITION:
9 months (summer, fall, winter)
