Essential Functions
- Performs echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound procedures, following protocols to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging.
- Operates ultrasound equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring functionality for optimal use in patient assessments.
- Conducts preliminary evaluations and records findings, providing comprehensive data for physician interpretation.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers across departments, facilitating the coordination of patient care and timely delivery of diagnostic results.
- Ensures patient safety and comfort during procedures, adhering to age-specific care considerations and maintaining a respectful approach.
- Documents procedures and findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring compliance with department standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assists in scheduling, preparing, and positioning patients for imaging, ensuring proper patient identification and verification of orders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- 0-1 years of experience in echocardiography and/or vascular imaging required
- Basic understanding of echocardiography and vascular imaging techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to handle imaging equipment safely and accurately.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems and diagnostic imaging software.
- RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer required or
- RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
