Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate equipment such as winches, hooks, and straps.
- Conduct basic automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle condition prior to towing or repair.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with vehicle owners, dispatchers, and team members.
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, including vehicle details, locations, and times.
- Perform routine inspections and minor mechanical repairs on tow trucks to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during vehicle recovery operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions, automotive repair procedures, and automotive systems.
- Proven ability to operate tow trucks safely, including flatbeds and traditional tow trucks.
- Commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy-duty vehicles.
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while ensuring secure transportation.
- Conflict management skills to handle challenging situations professionally and calmly.
- Experience with forklift operation is a plus for handling heavy or awkward loads when necessary.
- Excellent customer service skills to assist vehicle owners courteously during stressful situations.
