The General Manager will oversee all hotel operations while driving guest satisfaction, revenue growth, team engagement, and operational excellence.
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for overall leadership, management, profitability, and the hotel's sales culture. This individual will oversee daily operations, financial performance, guest satisfaction, team development, and brand compliance.
The General Manager serves as both the operational and sales leader of the hotel and plays a key role in driving revenue growth, market positioning, and overall hotel success.
This role works closely with the Assistant General Manager and department leaders to ensure operational excellence and achievement of company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead and oversee all hotel operations and department performance
- Ensure exceptional guest service and operational standards are consistently achieved
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
- Foster accountability, teamwork, and operational efficiency across all departments
- Maintain compliance with brand standards and company expectations
Financial & Revenue Management
- Manage hotel profitability, labor costs, and operating expenses
- Analyze financial reports, STR reports, pace, and market trends
- Drive occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and total revenue growth
- Partner with Revenue Management to maximize hotel performance
Sales Leadership
- Serve as an active sales leader for the hotel
- Support outside sales efforts, networking events, and community partnerships
- Ensure timely follow-up and conversion of all sales leads
- Foster a strong sales culture where “Service Opportunities are Sales Opportunities.”
Team Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members and department leaders
- Promote employee engagement, accountability, and recognition
- Create a positive and inclusive work environment
- Lead by example and reinforce GLMG Hotels’ culture and Anchors for Success
Guest Experience
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel
- Ensure guest concerns are resolved promptly and professionally
- Monitor guest satisfaction surveys, online reviews, and service recovery efforts
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hotel leadership experience
- Prior General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience preferred
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, sales, and financial management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Experience with hotel systems such as Opera, or similar PMS systems preferred
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
