We are hiring Certified Medical Assistants and MA Apprentices!
Get paid to become a Certified MA – MA Apprenticeship
No experience necessary. Upon successful completion of your first 90 days of employment with the clinic, Grande Ronde Hospital & Clinics will enroll you in the Medical Assisting Apprenticeship through SOWIB/Allied Health West and will cover the course fees (currently $4,000). In exchange, you will sign a contract committing to work for us in the role of Certified Medical Assistant for 24 months following the receipt of the CCMA certification. Certification generally takes 12 to 18 months to achieve. The total commitment to our clinic is 3 to 3 ½ years dependent upon the apprentice’s speed in finishing coursework.
Minimum starting pay is $18.91 per hour with a wage increase of $1.74 per hour upon certification.

Job Summary: The Medical Assistant I (MA) is responsible to the Clinic Manager, Assistant Manager, Nurse Supervisor and/or provider and works under the direct supervision of a licensed medical professional. The Medical Assistant I is a noncertified MA. Their tasks include delegated clinical and administrative duties. Collects, records, and reports patient care data, carries out age-specific, direct patient care, performs/assists with general and specialized procedures and treatments per protocol. Provides full range of Medical Assistant assigned duties and support in the clinical ambulatory care setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Enrolled in an approved medical assistant course and working toward certification within two years of hire or have AAMA, NHA, NCCT Certified or AMT Registered Certification required at all times
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card required at all times
Work experience:
- Clinical experience is preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Required to assist or move patients with appropriate safety technique
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers
- Walking or standing for periods of time
- Lift and carry up to 15 pounds
- Sit for long periods of time – up to 6 hours per day
- Effective professional verbal and written communication skills
This is a Casual position with no guaranteed hours.
Compensation Info: DOE/DOQ
Medical Assistant - Non-Certified: From $18.91 to $26.07
Medical Assistant - Certified: From $20.65 to $28.47
