Description:
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Attends all customers in the lobby with excellent customer service.
- Makes sure that the right door is assigned to each load.
- Verifies that the correct order is loaded.
- Prepares and prints bill of ladings.
- Checks that all paperwork provided to drivers/clients is correct.
- Provides the packaging department with inventory sheets.
- Prints tags that get placed on each pallet.
- Prints pick tickets so the packaging department knows what custom orders they need to build.
- Keeps track of all product disposals.
- Makes sure that product on hold is separated and not loaded until released.
- Receives payments for cash sales made on the warehouse floor and makes sure it gets to accounts receivable.
- Makes a list of products that didn't get loaded.
- Assists warehouse personnel and management when needed.
Competencies:
- Customer Service- This individual must provide excellent customer service and manage difficult situations while responding promptly to customer needs.
- Language: Must be able to read and write English and Spanish.
- Quality Control- This individual must complete the daily work in a timely manner and always double check the work performed in order to verify that the work is done correctly.
- Dependability- This individual must be able to show up to work ready, prepared, and on time everyday to work. He/She must be able to follow instructions and be trustworthy in order to assure that financial information is kept confidential.
- Microsoft Office/Famous- This individual must poses all the basic skills in Microsoft word, excel, and powerpoint. Experience managing the Famous software is preferred but not required.
- Education- This individual must have a high school degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in shipping.
